Mexico 2009 ~ the ocean

Hello!

Earlier this month we escaped the cold Saskatchewan winter and headed south to Mexico again. We had a great time! It had only been ten months since our last trip to Puerto Vallarta, but we just couldn't wait to go back. We found things alot easier this year (not that they were hard last year). The boys were a year older and that really made a big difference.

We were so glad to see the ocean again. And the warm, sunny weather.
(not too sure what Caleb is doing here, but he's cute! This year, he enjoyed posing for the camera so we have lots of photos of him with cheesy smiles and silly poses. He's getting so grown up.)

The boys had fun, splashing around. They loved to jump the waves, search for seashells and explore the rocks.

This next one is probably my favourite photo of the whole trip. :)

More details of our trip to come. (I need to get my journalling down before I forget it all).

how we spent our summer vacation

by michelle_d :)

At the end of July we went to Madge Lake and spent a few days "camping". Now don't get our version of "camping" confused with real camping. Our plan was to stay in a hotel room and visit our friends who were camping (like with a real camper). But upon our arrival, we were pleased to find out that we could stay in a cabin instead of the hotel room.

The cabin had a fridge/freezer, a fire pit, two bedrooms, lots of space. We loved it. And the boys loved every minute of our holiday. There were two other families and we all have boys so close in age. It was perfect!

We went for walks, played at the beach, had campfires, went boating and tubing. We even saw a bear (sorry, no photo of the bear- he was outside our cabin and the camera was in the car!)

And PS. I also had my birthday :) Here I am with my gift opening assistants.

the ocean/the beach

My boys had never seen the ocean before. They have differing opinions of it :)

Matthew loved it! He played in it everyday. He liked to draw pictures in the sand and then have them get wiped away by the waves. He enjoyed jumping over the waves and running away from the waves. He liked to splash around and build castles in the sand.
Caleb had a really fun experience at the beach one day. He was running around, getting his shoes all wet and sandy. He really had a great time. But then later, he wanted nothing to do wiht it. That was okay, because there were alot of other fun things to do too!
