any tips?

Any tips for travelling with two young kids who have never flown before and whose mom is starting to get a little nervous?

A lady from work just gave me a really good tip for picky eaters at all-inclusive resorts. She brought along some plastic containers and took extras of the foods that her girls liked. That way, if there was nothing that they liked at the lunch buffet, they still had the leftover peanut butter sandwiches that she had taken from the breakfast buffet.

Any other tips like this? Please share :)

Thanks so much!

Hi Michelle. The only thing I can think of right now is to be sure and take a favorite stuffed animal or blanket. That helped when we were on vacation.

Bring some gum or something to chew (or suck on - like a soother!)on for when the plane lands. I've seen some kids in lots of pain when the plane lands.

lots of variety of snacks and different games. i traveled with lily alone back in may and it was hard, but i made it with lots and lots of snacks. i also tried free sesame street videos on the ipod that didn't work at the time, but might now. good luck!

Keep a bag of brand new toys (small ones) that will hold their interest. Only give the new surprises one at a time.

Do you have a travel DVD player? The might be nice :) Take Woody and Buzz along via DVD...

These are my tips:

"TRUST" "BELIEVE" "PATIENCE"

Believe and trust that it will all work out. Take an extra (I say extra cause you are already so patient) dose of patience.

And if that doesn't work tell the boys that next time they are staying with Aunty Faye and you will be taking Grand ma with you instead :))

We used gameboys... and new games. But the boys were a bit older and it was 18 hours in a car, not a plane.
hmm.. others have covered the basics.
When Ben and I used to have to make regular runs to the emergency room we always called them our "little adventures." It was all about the marketing. ;)

I've also heard that Gravol or other light sedatives work wonders :) Kidding, of course.

handi wipes.
when we flew to montreal with sophie when she was 3, she insisted on rubbing her hands on everything. we often weren't near a place to clean-up and it drove me nuts.

I second the snacks, wipes, and favorite sleep stuff (blankets and things)! But also the travel dvd player really helped on the plane!
